Yoga Asanas
Yoga asanas are nothing but different techniques of yoga that are to be performed properly so that the person can remain healthy always.
Yoga relaxes your mind and body completely which also helps in correcting various internal disorders. Some people start performing yoga activities just by looking at the other person or gaining some information from them. It’s not necessary that if one asana or yoga technique is beneficial for one person then it will help others also. One should start doing it only after gaining good amount of knowledge about it. There are different types of techniques and postures of performing yoga which can sometimes harm the body instead of healing.
Yoga postures
Some of them have been given below to help you understand the basics of yoga asanas. But remember to do them with great care and attention.
- Posture one:
Fish posture or Matsya asana: The name itself signifies that the asana is performed in the style of the fish. The position is taken as if a real fish is lying and breathing. The person needs to take a deep breath to input air into the lungs. The effect of this is that the person can easily develop an ability of staying in water for a long time. It is helpful in treating backache very effectively.
- Posture two:
Surya Namaskar: This is a very well know asana performed by many people especially in India right in the morning. The real meaning of this posture is to give honor to the sun on its very first sight. Sun is treated as the god and people also regard it with the name “Surya Devta”. Though it is a very old Indian tradition of paying salutation to the sun god still it has been found that this technique help in revitalizing the body. The sun rays are really beneficial for the body especially the upper portion the mind, lungs, eyes, ears, mostly the entire breathing system. It gives mental peace and relaxation.
- Cobra posture or Bhujanga asana: The performance of this asana is advised for the pregnant woman. It helps the women in easy giving birth to the child.
- Posture Three:
The locust posture or the Salabha asana: This particular asana is beneficial for the lower portions of the body. It is believed to be the opposite position of the Cobra style of yoga. The effect of performing this technique can be seen with the continuity of the activity. The Cobra technique is helpful for better results in the upper body while the locust position is the reverse of it. It has been examined that the results are beneficial if the person performs the half of the activity in the beginning and should start performing the complete activity on after he gets into the habit of doing it.
- Posture four:
Leg lifting or Utthan pada asana: The procedure of performing this technique of yoga is to move the legs in the upward direction. The area that is affected by the act of this yoga is the spinal cord. Most of the back problems get cured by doing this asana continuously. It gives better results if the legs are lifted one after the other.
