Nisargopchar Ashram is situated at Uruli Kanchan in Pune, Maharashtra. Mahatma Gandhi, Late Dr. Manibhai Desai and Late Balkoba Bhave were the originator of the Nisargopachar Ashram in Pune. Gandhi took active steps towards the establishment and arrived at Urulikanchan on 22nd March 1946. The ashram was a joint effort of Motilalji Kothari and Pannalalji Baldota, Gandhiji. The villagers, late Mahadev Kanchan, Manibhai Desai, Dattoba Kanchan and Bandopant Datar also contributed in it. The ashram has played great role in the field of social health. The main aim of this ashram is to promote preventive aspects of Naturopathy in rural areas and to demonstrate the beneficial effects of naturopathy in various diseases.

The Nisargopchar ashram includes single and double rooms, family quarters, general ward and cottages for accommodation of the patients. It offers vegetarian food, well maintained garden, walking track and gymnasium. It also has a well equipped library which houses a good collection of books on Naturopathy, yoga, health science and Gandhian and Sarvodaya literature.

Nisargopchar Asharam facilities are simple.It doesn’t provide air conditioners, color televisions and other modern amenities. Rooms are categorized as Kutir rooms, kamadgiri bhavan, Kutumb Niwas, Vyakti Niwas sand general wards. Kutir rooms have attched bathrooms and green surrounding. Kutumb niwas are perfect for families. General wards are separate for males and females and have their own common bathrooms.

Nisargopchar ashram offers vegetarian food as per the Doctor’s prescription. They mostly serve jowar or bajra rotis, rice, vegetable salads, soups, tulsi syrup, milk and sprouted pulses. The vegetables, cereals and fruits that are served at Nisargopchar ashram are organic in nature. The vegetable that they cook are grown in house. They serve herbal tea, fresh fruit and vegetable juices twice a day.
