Surgical Treatment of Vaginal Cancer
Uncontrolled growth of cancer cells in the vagina is known as vaginal cancer. This cancer mostly affects females of age 45 to 65 years. Women with a family history of cancer of reproductive organs are also at a great risk. Different therapies are used for the treatment of vaginal cancer. Therapies such as Surgical, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, neoadjuvant therapy and adjuvant therapy can be used for its treatment.

- Lymphadenectomy surgery for vaginal cancer: in this procedure, some portions of lymph node are removed and checked under a microscope for signs of cancer. This method is known as lymph dissection. If the cancer is found in the upper vagina then the pelvic lymph nodes can be removed and if the cancer is found in lower vagina then the lymph node present in groin is removed.
Symptoms of vaginal cancer:
Common signs that can be found in people suffering from vaginal cancer are fatigue, unexplained anaemia, itching, weight loss, fever, abnormal vaginal bleeding and discomfort or bleeding with intercourse.
Diagnostic tools for vaginal cancer:
Tools such as biopsy, CT scan, MRI, ultrasounds can be performed for the diagnosis for the diagnosis of vaginal cancer.
